Scope of WorkThe City of Calabasas (City) is requesting Proposals from nntractors to provide a new video surveillance system at the ten (10) City locations listed in Table 2 and Table 4, together with two (2) Alternates. The Base RFP comprises one hundred thirty-eight (138) cameras. The work includes removal of existing cameras and associated equipment where an existing system is being replaced, and new installation at locations where no system exists today.

Bid: City of Calabasas, CA, RFP "Public Safety Video." Released Sep 25, 2026. Proposals by email only to clewis@cityofcalabasas.com (no mail, courier or drop-off).
Scope: Turnkey, IP-based, all-digital video surveillance system with cloud recording. 138 cameras at 10 City sites, plus Alternate 1 (PW Yard, 3 cameras) and Alternate 2 (mobile solar trailer, 2 cameras), for 143 total. Contractor supplies and installs everything: cameras, mounts, Cat 6A cabling, switches/UPS, enclosures, power connections, software and cloud recorder, 5 years of maintenance and licensing, and removal/disposal of the existing system. No access control in this bid.
Key dates: Questions due Oct 9, 2026, 5:00 PM PST. Answers by Oct 16. Mandatory bidder walkthrough Oct 26–30, 2026 (exact date/time TBD). Proposal due Nov 13, 2026, 2:00 PM PST. Demos Nov 23. Council approval date TBD.
Brand: Avigilon is preferred and the contractor needs Avigilon-certified technicians, but equivalents are accepted if they meet the specs (compliance matrix required). Structured cabling is based on Panduit or equivalent.
Minimum camera requirements / quality:

Minimum 5MP indoor / 8MP outdoor fixed (per sensor head on multisensor)

WDR ≥ 120 dB

Sustained recording ≥ 15 fps at full resolution

Outdoor low light: color at 0.05 lux or better, or integrated IR
